Stitch in Time, 2024

This project explores temporal concepts, putting moments of my personal history in juxtaposition with sociopolitical events of global significance. This project weaves paper strips cut from family snapshots with strands of mass media imagery representing our collective memory. By riffing on domestic craft traditions such as scrapbooking and quilt-making, I wanted to make this book a piece that articulated the labor of its construction.
The verso of every spread is left blank, calling attention to the weaving process as the strips of moments cross. From personal memories to historical milestones, each timestamp contributes to my passage through time.

Digital Sonnets,
2023

I created a narrative by exploring relationships through compressed text messages. We send numerous texts daily, and it's easy to lose track of what we say and how we feel at the time. When these texts are analyzed, an intriguing story unfolds, as each text holds specific time, location, and emotion, containing a wealth of information. The keyword of this memoir is “想” (Xiang), a Chinese character with three meanings: miss, think, and want, which carries deep significance in my texts. By recording the repetition of this character and its different meanings, I hope to discover compressed information from our everyday interactions and recollect the lost moments of life.

Home, 2022

Employing a blend of typography and image layout, I portrayed the contrasting experiences of living in two distinct corners of the globe. Delving into the struggles and joys of these worlds, I want to evoke a sense of belonging and familiarity for readers, regardless of their geographical location.

Marine Life,  2021

Incorporating one of Wikipedia’s longest list into a book, I designed the graphics of the book based on molecules.
